Automation Engineer (Mid-Level)

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Mid-Level Automation Engineer on a part-time, project basis to support and enhance workflow automation for document and identity verification use cases. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in remote, agile environments and has hands-on experience building with n8n or similar low-code tools.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

You will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying automated workflows that:

• Capture and process client-submitted forms.
• Upload and validate identity and supporting documents.
• Integrate with Azure Cognitive Services (e.g. Document Intelligence) to extract structured data.
• Perform validation of ID formats, expiry dates, and required fields.
• Route validated documents to the appropriate SharePoint folders.
• Send dynamic email notifications with document links to internal stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Deep familiarity with n8n (nodes, expressions, error handling, versioning).
• Practical experience with Azure Cognitive Services, especially Document Intelligence/Form Recogniser.
• Solid understanding of API authentication flows and integration best practices.
• Experience integrating with email services and managing document statuses.
• Bonus: Knowledge of KYC, PEP screening, and regulatory document checks.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
• Certifications in Azure (e.g. Azure AI Engineer Associate, Azure Developer Associate) are a plus.
• Training or certification in low-code platforms (n8n, Power Automate, Make.com, etc.) is highly beneficial.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Building and deploying end-to-end workflows in n8n or similar low-code automation platforms (e.g. Power Automate, Zapier, Make.com).
• Designing secure and compliant document-handling automation.
• Working with HTTP APIs, including OAuth2 and JSON payloads.
• Automating tasks involving Azure Document Intelligence, SharePoint API, and DocuSign.
• Handling document validation logic, routing, and notification emails.
• Writing custom logic using low-code Code nodes (e.g. JavaScript, Python).
• Delivering automation projects for KYC, identity verification, or compliance workflows.
