Senior Engineer - Industrial IoT (PTC ThingWorx)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer with hands-on expertise in the PTC ThingWorx IoT Platform to develop industrial IoT applications and integrations. The role focuses on building ThingWorx entities, user-facing dashboards, enterprise integrations, and industrial connectivity solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills and an understanding of IIoT architectures and edge-to-cloud data flows.

Job Description

The role involves designing and developing custom ThingWorx components, including Things, Thing Templates, Thing Shapes, Data Shapes, and Mashup dashboards. You will also build APIs and integrations between ThingWorx and enterprise platforms such as Windchill, SAP, and MES systems.

The position requires configuring data flows from PLCs and sensors using industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, OPC UA, and Modbus, often working with Kepware. You will monitor application performance, troubleshoot connectivity and scripting issues, and maintain technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop custom ThingWorx entities, Thing Templates, Thing Shapes, and Data Shapes.
• Design and build user-facing ThingWorx Mashup dashboards.
• Develop APIs and integrations with Windchill, SAP, MES, and other third-party platforms.
• Configure industrial data connectivity from PLCs and sensors.
• Work with MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus, and Kepware-based connectivity.
• Troubleshoot application, connectivity, and scripting issues.
• Monitor application performance and support optimization activities.
• Maintain technical documentation and development standards.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PTC ThingWorx and strong programming skills in JavaScript, REST APIs, JSON, XML, and SQL. A foundational understanding of industrial IoT architectures, edge-to-cloud data flows, and industrial connectivity is expected, along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
