Legal Counsel

Qualifications

• Draft and review contracts that meet local laws, focusing on Hong Kong, China, and Africa.
• Provide guidance on diverse legal matters, including employment law and intellectual property, to ensure risk management and compliance.
• Navigate intricate legal issues, requiring expertise in due diligence, negotiation, and post-merger integration.
• Develop standardized templates to streamline operations and maintain consistency in contractual agreements across regions.
• Ensure the company's governance practices adhere to legal standards and complete all necessary filings for legal operations.
• :Offer legal solutions to various business, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations across jurisdictions.
• Identify legal risks in transactional matters and propose effective solutions.
• Assist the overall legal function and undertake additional ad-hoc duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong and/or other common law jurisdictions with a minimum of 5 years PQE, preferably in shipping, logistics, or warehousing; exposure to HK, PRC, and Africa transactions is ideal.
• : Strong understanding of the Hong Kong legal system, commercial law, and banking/finance transactions.
• Experience in handling compliance for Hong Kong-listed companies is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to develop legal strategies and work independently in a growing corporation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
• Willingness to travel to jurisdictions with business operations.
