Summary
The RN provides direct patient care, coordinates multidisciplinary care plans, and ensures safe, evidence-based practice in accordance with state Nurse Practice Acts and facility policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform head-to-toe assessments, develop and update care plans, and document in the EMR
  • Administer medications and IV therapies, manage central lines and drains per competency
  • Collaborate with physicians, case management, and allied teams to optimize outcomes
  • Monitor labs, diagnostics, and patient response; escalate changes promptly
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, and discharge plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation, handoffs, and participation in huddles
  • Support infection prevention, falls reduction, and other quality initiatives
  • Precept and mentor as assigned

Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice
  • BLS required
  • ACLS for most acute units, PALS or NRP for pediatrics or L&D as applicable
  • 1 to 2 years recent experience in the target specialty preferred
  • Proficiency with EMRs such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech

Med-Surg, Telemetry, Step-Down, ICU, ED, OR, PACU, L&D, Mother-Baby, NICU, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health

Physical Demands
Frequent standing, lifting up to 35 lbs with assistive devices, safe patient handling compliance
