Position Summary
Were seeking a hands-on, team-focused Mitigation Department Manager to lead our mitigation division. This role is central to our operational success, with responsibility for overseeing all mitigation projects, managing team capacity and performance, and continually refining the systems that allow us to scale our work and serve our clients with excellence.
The ideal candidate will combine technical experience in property restoration with strong people leadership skills and a performance-driven mindset. You will oversee the execution of all mitigation projects, guide the development of your team, ensure efficient use of company assets, and help deliver exceptional service to customers and referral partners.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee all mitigation projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, timeliness, profitability, and customer satisfaction
Step in to manage or troubleshoot challenging projects as needed, interacting with customers, adjusters, subcontractors, and internal teams
Leverage software tools to manage job progress, documentation, invoicing, and collections
Maintain project compliance with permitting, safety, and documentation standards
Financial Oversight
Monitor project-level and division-level performance, identifying opportunities to improve margin, cost control, and job flow
Forecast and manage team capacity based on demand trends
Collaborate in the budgeting process and regularly review key performance indicators
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and develop a team of estimators, project managers, technicians, and administrators
Conduct performance reviews, set expectations, and manage all aspects of career progression, including hiring, promotions, and coaching
Create a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
Oversee technician scheduling and ensure consistent adherence to safety protocols
Asset & Facility Management
Manage company mitigation assets including vehicles, equipment, and consumables
Oversee warehouse operations and implement effective inventory and housekeeping practices
Identify and justify capital investment needs and ensure effective return on investment
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with our repair division to ensure a smooth transition from mitigation to repair projects
Support business development by representing the technical capabilities of the mitigation team with key customers and referral sources
Assist in growing commercial accounts through technical support in sales conversations
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in property restoration, construction, or a closely related field
2+ years of team leadership or departmental management experience required
Deep understanding of water, mold, fire, and biohazard mitigation procedures and standards
Strong project management and organizational skills
Proficiency in restoration software platforms (e.g., Dash, Xactimate) and digital documentation tools
Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to job sites
