About the Opportunity

This is not a typical bookkeeping role. Our client is an ambitious, growth-focused founder building a bookkeeping and financial services business, and they need someone who wants to be more than just a technician. You'll work directly alongside the founder, servicing a growing portfolio of clients while helping shape the business from the ground up. The Role

You'll manage bookkeeping across a portfolio of clients, delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial work. But just as importantly, you'll be a genuine partner to the founder, someone who contributes to how the business is built, how clients are served, and how the firm grows. The founder moves fast, thinks big, and wants someone alongside them who does the same.

What You'll Do

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping across a portfolio of clients.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) with full compliance. Manage GST, PAYG, and superannuation obligations across client accounts.
  • Deliver clear, timely financial reports that give clients genuine visibility over their numbers. Build strong client relationships and communicate financials in plain language.
  • Help develop processes and systems as the client base grows.
  • Bring a financial literacy mindset to every client interaction, not just compliance.

What We're Looking For

  • Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting minimum, Diploma preferred.
  • Registered BAS Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board: highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5-10 years bookkeeping experience, ideally across multiple clients or in a practice environment.
  • Proficient in Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks advantageous.
  • Experience in a start-up or growing practice highly regarded.
