Windhoek Consulting Engineers is seeking an Intermediate BIM Modeler (Mechanical & Electrical) to join our consulting engineering team in Windhoek. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, coordination, and management of Mechanical and Electrical BIM models for a variety of building and infrastructure projects.
The role requires strong Autodesk Revit experience, a solid understanding of MEP services coordination, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models for Mechanical and Electrical building services using Revit
- Assist with multidisciplinary BIM coordination and clash detection processes
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings with internal and external project teams
- Produce construction drawings, layouts, schedules, and model-based documentation from BIM models
- Create and maintain Revit families and BIM content libraries
- Support the implementation and maintenance of BIM standards, templates, and workflows
- Coordinate models with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines
- Ensure model quality, accuracy, and compliance with company BIM standards
- Assist engineers with drawing extraction and model-based project deliverables
- Utilize AutoCAD and Plant 3D where required for project coordination and drafting support
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications:
- Draughting qualification or relevant technical qualification
- BIM certification or relevant Autodesk/Revit certification
- A minimum of 2–3 years' experience in BIM modelling within a consulting engineering environment
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Exposure to Plant 3D will be advantageous
- Understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Wet Services, Fire, and electronic building systems
Skills & Attributes:
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary project teams
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong attention to detail and model accuracy
- Understanding of BIM coordination workflows and clash detection procedures
- Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and documentation practices
- Ability to manage multiple project deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment
