Windhoek Consulting Engineers is seeking for a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer (Building Services & Infrastructure) to design, coordinate, and oversee electrical systems for commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial, and mixed-use building projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical services are safe, efficient, compliant with relevant standards, and aligned with project requirements from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical building services systems including, but not limited to (Power distribution and reticulation; Lighting systems and controls; Emergency power systems (generators, UPS); Earthing and lightning protection; Fire alarm and life safety systems; Data, communications, and security systems)
  • Prepare detailed electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and specifications.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulation.
  • Coordinate electrical designs with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical input during project planning and execution phases.
  • Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and material approvals.
  • Monitor installation works on-site to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Support snagging, handover, and final acceptance processes.
  • Ensure all electrical systems meet statutory and safety requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and authorities.

What We're Looking For:
Qualifications:

  • BSc (Hons), BEng, or BTech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 + years consulting engineering experience.
  • Compulsory: Registered with ECN or ECSA as a Professional or Incorporated Engineer
  • Valid driver's license

Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience with international and large-scale project delivery
  • Experience with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of Fidic, JBCC, and GCC contract frameworks
  • Familiarity with local and international electrical standards and codes.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and leadership capabilities
  • Proficient in industry-standard engineering and project software
  • Strategic thinker with an innovative mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good time management and ability to manage multiple projects.
