My client is  seeking a dynamic and strategic Thailand Claims Leader to spearhead our claims services across all business lines. In this key leadership role, you will oversee the evaluation and settlement of complex or large losses claims, formulate procedures and policies, and enhance end-to-end claims management while ensuring compliance with claims protocols and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Asia Market Chief Claims Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our claims strategy.

Job Duties: As the Thailand Claims Leader, you will:

  1. Lead Innovation: Develop and innovate claims and litigation resolution strategies, policies, standards, processes, and systems. Prioritize digitalization efforts to improve efficiency, sustainability, and consistency of claims best practices. Ensure a reliable and effective customer and workforce experience.
  2. Claims Optimization: Spearhead the design of effective claims assessments, processes, tools, and training to achieve fair and competitive claims outcomes. Provide strategic oversight, control, and resolution over claims reserves, handling, loss adjustment, settlements, investigations, litigation, and recovery.
  3. Data Analysis: Lead the analysis of claims trends, data mining, and reporting to ensure high-impact operating results. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor practices, and customer expectations to drive continuous improvement.
  4. Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day business operations, policy administration, internal controls, and cost reduction opportunities. Uphold operational excellence, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with laws and regulations.
  5. Customer Service: Define and spearhead customer service strategies to ensure exceptional customer experiences, particularly in claims settlement. Strive for market-leading service excellence.
  6. Talent Development: Direct the Claims teams, build their knowledge base, and oversee talent development and training initiatives. Ensure effective succession planning for key positions and maintain regular communication of key imperatives.

Job Requirements: To qualify for this role, you should have:

  • Experience: At least 15 years of working experience in the insurance industry is preferred.
  • Insurance Expertise: Extensive understanding of insurance coverage interpretation, loss reserving, and client relationship management.
  • Claims Knowledge: Excellent understanding of the end-to-end claims life cycle and management of all lines of claims.
  • Process Improvement: Experience in implementing improvements in processes.
  • Leadership Skills: Significant experience in progressive positions demonstrating technical, operational, and managerial skills in the Claims area is an advantage.
  • Problem Solving: Possess problem-solving and influencing skills and be results-oriented.
  • Claims Management: Experience in overseeing Claims handling, evaluation & management, claims policy administration, Insurance Coverage Interpretation & Loss Reserving Management.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience in Claims cost and expense management & productivity analysis.
  • Digital & Strategic Insight: Possess skills and interest in emerging Digital & Technology Synthesis as well as strategic insights & business intelligence.
  • Language: Proficiency in the local language is preferred.
