SENIOR PROCUREMENT AND SUBCONTRACT MANAGER - CLEANTECH / MARINETECH

A Senior Procurement and Subcontract Manager is needed to join GT Wings, an ambitious engineering led CleanTech and MarineTech company developing AirWing, an advanced wind propulsion system helping commercial shipping cut fuel use and reduce emissions.

GT Wings is moving from prototype into scaled manufacturing and commercial deployment. With full scale systems now installed and more projects secured, the strength of the international manufacturing supply chain is critical to delivery. This role sits at the centre of that transition.

Reporting to the COO, you will take full ownership of GT Wings' manufacturing subcontractors, overseeing every aspect of the commercial and contractual relationship. Your remit spans tender preparation, supplier engagement, evaluation and selection, contract award, governance through delivery, and structured close out. You will ensure cost effective, commercially robust solutions that enable AirWing to be built reliably and at scale.

This is a senior, engineering fluent procurement role requiring a broad and practical understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles. You must be able to apply that knowledge commercially across complex subcontracted supply chains. You will prepare and manage bid and tender packages, lead clarifications, develop evaluation criteria, analyse proposals, recommend supplier selection, and administer subcontract agreements through performance, change and completion. Your judgement will directly influence cost, risk and delivery certainty as the business grows.

Working closely with Engineering, Project Management, Quality and Finance, you will oversee performance against programme requirements, assess change requests and non conformances, negotiate scope and pricing adjustments, and maintain accurate cost to complete and cashflow forecasts. You will also conduct supplier due diligence, including financial health and capability reviews, identifying and mitigating supply chain risk as GT Wings scales.

Frequent travel, including to Asia, will form part of the role.

To qualify: You should be a Senior Subcontract Manager, Senior Procurement Manager, Subcontract Commercial Manager, Supply Chain and Contracts Manager or similar with a CV that demonstrates

.

• Significant experience in subcontract management or procurement within engineering or manufacturing environments;
• Proven experience working with suppliers in Asia (ideally China);
• Strong background managing large assemblies or fabrications;
• Practical understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles;
• Experience preparing tenders, evaluating proposals and negotiating complex subcontract agreements;
• Confidence managing variations, claims, change control and commercial risk;
• Clear, structured communication skills and the ability to operate credibly with senior stakeholders.

Experience in marine or shipping, steel fabrications, electrical assemblies, composites or production scheduling would be advantageous but not essential.
