About the job Senior Full Stack Developer, Data Engineering & Architecture
WebCreek is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong expertise in data engineering, distributed systems, and scalable application architecture to help develop and optimize complex enterprise applications.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with React and NestJS, combined with deep knowledge of data processing, backend architecture, and performance optimization. This role requires a proven ability to design scalable solutions, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and improve the reliability of data-intensive systems.
This position is well suited for a senior engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, taking ownership of architectural decisions, and collaborating across engineering teams to deliver high-performing, reliable software solutions.
What You'll Do:
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using React and NestJS, with a strong focus on backend architecture and data-intensive systems.
Design, build, and optimize data pipelines, data processing workflows, and integrations to support complex business operations.
Develop scalable backend services and APIs that support large data volumes, asynchronous processing, and distributed workloads.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across applications, databases, APIs, and distributed systems.
Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data access patterns to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
Work with MongoDB, Redis, queueing systems, and event-driven architectures to support efficient data processing and application performance.
Lead cross-functional architectural discussions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and recommend scalable solutions across engineering teams.
Collaborate with frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure teams to establish technical standards and improve system architecture.
Design and implement reliable asynchronous processing workflows, including background jobs, message queues, and fault-tolerant services.
Troubleshoot complex production issues, investigate system performance, and implement long-term improvements to stability and reliability.
Support secure application development, including authentication, authorization, and OpenID Connect (OIDC)-based security.
Contribute to technical design documentation, code reviews, and architectural decisions to ensure maintainable, production-ready solutions.
Take ownership of technical initiatives from design through implementation, deployment, and production support.
What You Bring:
5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong background in backend development, data-intensive applications, and distributed systems.
Strong hands-on experience developing full-stack applications using React and NestJS.
Deep knowledge of data engineering principles, including data pipelines, data processing, data integration, and performance optimization.
Proven experience designing and optimizing scalable distributed systems and backend architectures.
Strong experience developing APIs, backend services, and asynchronous processing workflows.
Experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases, including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Experience with Redis, caching strategies, and application performance optimization.
Strong understanding of message queues, event-driven architectures, and reliable asynchronous processing.
Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks across databases, backend services, and distributed applications.
Experience with authentication and authorization, including OpenID Connect (OIDC) or similar protocols.
Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting business-critical applications in production environments.
Ability to lead cross-functional architecture discussions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and drive engineering decisions.
Strong understanding of system scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance optimization.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and business stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex technical challenges, and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):
Experience with advanced SQL, ETL/ELT processes, and data pipeline optimization.
Familiarity with distributed data processing technologies, streaming platforms, or data orchestration tools.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization and deployment technologies.
Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and performance profiling tools for distributed applications.
Experience leading technical initiatives or architecture improvements across multiple engineering teams.
Experience working in Oil & Gas, Energy, Industrial, or enterprise technology environments.
Experience supporting high-volume, data-intensive applications in production.
What You'll Gain:
Full-time position in a quickly growing company.
Competitive salary with regular reviews.
401(k) Retirement Plan and comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays.
In-house IT training and certifications through WebCreek University.
