Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Manager to lead and manage all tax-related activities within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, developing and implementing effective tax strategies, preparing accurate tax returns, and managing audits. The Tax Manager will work closely with senior management to minimize tax liability while maintaining compliance and managing risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation and review of federal, state, and local corporate tax returns.
  • Oversee quarterly and annual tax provisions (ASC 740), including deferred tax calculations.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the companys tax position.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for tax authorities and coordinate all tax audits.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and assess potential impact on the business.
  • Collaborate with accounting, legal, and operations teams on tax-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation for tax filings and audits.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop junior tax staff or external consultants.
  • Evaluate tax software and tools to improve reporting and compliance processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters or CPA preferred).
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in tax, including public accounting and/or corporate tax department.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and federal, state, and local tax codes.
  • Experience with tax compliance software (e.g., OneSource, Corptax, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with international tax and transfer pricing.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Experience in the [Insert industry, e.g., manufacturing, SaaS, retail, etc.] sector.
