About the Role

WellTech Partners is partnered with a healthcare facility in Porterville, CA that is seeking an experienced and dedicated Charge RN to join their Emergency Department team. This is a full-time, on-site position where you'll lead a high-performing nursing team while ensuring quality, patient-centered care for diverse populations from newborns to geriatrics in a fast-paced emergency environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily nursing operations, including patient assignments, admissions, transfers, and discharges.

  • Act as a clinical resource, mentor, and role model for nursing staff.

  • Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.

  • Coordinate staffing needs, breaks, and lunches to maintain optimal care coverage.

  • Respond promptly to all emergency codes and assist with patient triage and flow.

  • Support quality improvement initiatives, policy updates, and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Maintain open and effective communication with patients, families, and hospital departments.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities and leadership committees.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Current California RN license (required).

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical RN experience in acute care (emergency department preferred).

  • National certification (to be obtained within 90 days of accepting the position).

Certifications:

  • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS (required).

  • MICN certification with Central California EMS Agency (required).

  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.

  • Proficiency in patient triage, emergency response, and critical thinking under pressure.

  • Ability to mentor and develop nursing staff while fostering a collaborative environment.
