Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and reliable Program Intern to support the day-to-day data collection, organization, and reporting activities of WSHA programs. Working closely with the Program Manager and the program teams, the Program Intern will engage directly with program participants to gather information, organize and prepare data for reports, and keep our Airtable systems accurate and up to date. This is a hands-on learning opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to gain practical experience in program support, data management, and the startup ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Participant Data Collection: Engage directly with program participants through calls, surveys, interviews, and field interactions to collect program monitoring data, including attendance and participation tracking and baseline, endline and pre/post assessments.
    • Data Organization & Reporting: Compile, clean, and organize collected data; help track program indicators against targets; and prepare inputs for internal, quarterly, annual and donor reports, including simple data visualizations and dashboards.
    • Data Entry & Management: Accurately enter program data into WSHA's systems and keep records complete, current, and well-organized.
    • Data Quality: Carry out routine checks to ensure the data collected and entered is accurate, consistent, and reliable.
    • Documentation & Learning: Help document lessons learned, success stories and best practices, and support the filing and upkeep of program documentation and historical impact records.
    • General Program Support: Provide day-to-day support to the program team, including coordination with implementing partners on reporting requests and logistics for monitoring visits and data collection exercises.

Qualifications and Experience:

    • Recent graduate in business, project management, IT or a related field
    • Strong interest in data, monitoring, and program support; prior coursework or volunteer exposure to M&E or data entry is an advantage but not required.
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc); familiarity with Airtable or Google Sheets is a plus.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging directly with program participants.
    • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
    • Ability to work well in a team and manage multiple small tasks.
    • Reliable, organized, and comfortable with fieldwork/travel to program sites when required.

Personal Atrributes

  • High level of integrity and accountability, with a strong commitment to organizational values.
  • Reliable and organized, with the ability to manage multiple small tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation, with a genuine interest in supporting startups and contributing to their growth.
