About the Program
Wezesha Binti is a five-year initiative co-implemented by Westerwelle Foundation Tanzania and Enabel, the Belgian development agency. The program aims to empower girls and young women (ages 17 - 29) in Kigoma Regionincluding Kasulu, Kibondo, and Buhigwe, with relevant skills for decent, greener employment and entrepreneurship in the digital and circular economy. Through blended learning, hands-on training, mentorship, and partnerships with local institutions, the program fosters inclusive access to economic opportunity and long-term empowerment.
Role Overview
The Training Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day delivery of in-person training sessions for participants in Kigoma. This includes managing training logistics, supporting local facilitators, tracking participant progress, and ensuring sessions are delivered effectively and on schedule.
The Training Coordinator will work closely with the Training & Platform Usage Assistant and will be supported by the wider Wezesha Binti team, including the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator, Program Coordinator, and other team members to ensure smooth delivery and alignment with program objectives.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about womens empowerment, skilled in training coordination, and experienced in community-based programming.
Key Responsibilities
Training Implementation
- Coordinate and oversee in-person training delivery for digital skills, circular economy, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.
- Support trainers and facilitators with tools, schedules, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure training venues, materials, and logistics are well-prepared in advance.
Participant Engagement
- Monitor participant attendance, performance, and feedback.
- Facilitate mentorship, peer learning, and community-building activities.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with the Training & Platform Usage Assistant to manage blended learning delivery.
- Liaise with local partners such as VETA, TWCC, SIDO, and community organisations.
- Coordinate with the Program Coordinator, M&E Coordinator, and other Wezesha Binti staff to report progress, resolve issues, and align on program objectives.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Work with the M&E Coordinator to ensure proper reporting and impact tracking for the program
- Maintain accurate training records and logs.
- Provide weekly updates and a monthly activity report with observations and recommendations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Education, Community Development, Gender Studies, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in training coordination or youth/women-focused development programs.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Fluent in Swahili; basic English reporting skills required.
- Prior experience working in Kigoma or similar contexts is an added advantage.
- Commitment to gender equality and youth empowerment.
Consultancy Terms
- Approximately 15 days/month (flexible based on cohort schedule).
- Compensation based on deliverables and work plan.
- Must be based Kigoma region.
