Westerwelle Startup Haus Tunis (WSHT) is a startup hub empowering local entrepreneurs and supporting the innovation ecosystem in Tunisia. The hub offers co-working space to its members, runs in-house incubation and acceleration programmes, and hosts regular events with stakeholders from the ecosystem. Headquartered in Berlin, the Westerwelle Foundation currently operates hubs in Rwanda, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Kenya. It runs support programmes focused on business ideation, proof of concept, and international acceleration. The Tunis hub provides a collaborative space for startups to develop and connect with other stakeholders.
About the Role
As the Community & Marketing Lead at Westerwelle Startup Haus Tunis, you will play a pivotal role in amplifying the brand, growing the coworking space, and fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial community. This is a unique opportunity for a driven, creative, and entrepreneurial marketer who thrives in international, purpose-driven environments.
You will design and implement marketing strategies, craft engaging content across digital platforms, support sales efforts for our coworking offerings, and nurture relationships with startups, freelancers, and partners. Youll be at the heart of a growing innovation hub committed to advancing the Tunisian and African entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Brand Strategy
- Develop and execute digital marketing strategies that drive engagement, brand visibility, and community growth.
- Design and implement online and offline campaigns for coworking space promotion, events, and programs.
- Track and report performance metrics (reach, engagement, conversion, etc.) and adjust strategies accordingly.
Content Creation & Social Media
- Plan, create, and publish compelling content (posts, videos, visuals, newsletters) for social media, blog, and website.
- Manage and grow our online presence across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
- Coordinate visual assets with designers or create your own using tools like Canva or Adobe Suite.
Community & Ecosystem Engagement
- Build relationships with entrepreneurs, startups, and partners within the innovation ecosystem.
- Organize and support community events, workshops, and networking activities that increase footfall and engagement.
- Ensure a warm, inclusive, and inspiring atmosphere for our members and visitors.
Coworking Space Sales Support
- Work alongside the Operations team to develop and implement marketing strategies for boosting coworking occupancy.
- Support with lead generation, tours, onboarding, and member retention.
- Develop promotional offers and partnerships that drive traffic and revenue.
Who You Are (Qualifications)
Must-Haves
- A degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in marketing, community building, or brand roles.
- Strong written and spoken English youll be communicating with international partners and stakeholders.
- Experience in or familiarity with international or multicultural environments.
- Proficiency in social media management tools and basic design platforms (e.g., Canva, Buffer, Meta Suite).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a people-first mindset.
- Demonstrated creativity and storytelling skills.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in a startup, coworking space, or community-based organization.
- Basic understanding of sales funnels, CRM tools, or performance marketing.
- Photography, video editing, or graphic design skills.
- Knowledge of the Tunisian startup ecosystem or African innovation hubs.
