About Westerwelle Startup Haus Arusha
Westerwelle Startup Haus Arusha (WSHA) is a startup hub empowering local entrepreneurs and supporting the innovation ecosystem in Tanzania. The hub offers co-working space to its members, runs in-house incubation and acceleration programmes, and hosts regular events with stakeholders from the ecosystem. Headquartered in Berlin, the Westerwelle Foundation currently operates hubs in Rwanda, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Kenya. It runs support programmes focused on business ideation, proof of concept, and international acceleration. The Arusha hub provides a collaborative space for startups to develop and connect with other stakeholders.
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator to support the implementation, tracking, and reporting of WSHA programs. The M&E Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing robust monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure program quality, assess impact, and generate insights that inform strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop M&E Systems: Design and implement appropriate M&E frameworks, tools, and processes for ongoing programs.
- Data Collection & Management: Ensure timely and accurate collection, entry, analysis, and reporting of data from programs and activities.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular internal and donor reports on program outputs, outcomes, and impact.
- Impact Tracking: Monitor progress against program indicators, track changes, and assess effectiveness.
- Program Improvement: Use data insights to provide actionable recommendations for program design and delivery.
- Evaluation Support: Coordinate baseline, midline, and endline evaluations as required.
- Compliance: Ensure data privacy, quality, and integrity according to organizational and donor requirements.
- Capacity Building: Train and support staff and program participants on data collection methods and the importance of M&E.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in NGO or development programs.
- Proven experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, KoboToolbox, Power BI, Airtable, etc.).
- Understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to present data in a clear and compelling way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with entrepreneurship, startup ecosystems, or youth-focused programs is an added advantage.
