Paralegal / Law Clerk
Job Description:
Overview:
LATAM Partners is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal / Law Clerk to support Arellano Law Firm from our offices in Guadalajara. This role requires exceptional legal research and case management skills, fluency in English and Spanish, and a strong understanding of U.S. legal procedures. The ideal candidate will assist in various legal practice areas, including Business Law, Civil Law, Construction & Real Estate Law, Estate Planning, Immigration Law, Personal Injury & Accidents, and Bankruptcy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Research & Case Preparation:
- Conduct legal research to support attorneys in preparing cases, motions, and pleadings.
- Analyze and summarize case law, statutes, and regulations applicable to ongoing cases.
- Document Drafting & Review:
- Assist in drafting legal documents, contracts, agreements, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Review legal forms and filings for accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Client Communication & Case Management:
- Maintain direct communication with clients to gather information, provide updates, and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Manage case files, organize legal documents, and maintain accurate records in compliance with U.S. legal standards.
- Court Filings & Administrative Support:
- Assist in preparing court filings, ensuring compliance with deadlines and jurisdictional requirements.
- Coordinate schedules for court appearances, depositions, and client meetings.
- Personal Injury Case Assistance:
- Draft demand letters and legal documents using firm templates
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in law.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Lawyer in Mexico.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of document management and case management systems.
- Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Work Location:
- On-Site: This position requires working from LATAM Partners' offices in Guadalajara.
