The Junior Scrum Master supports Agile teams in following Scrum practices and Agile principles while helping facilitate team collaboration and delivery. Working under the guidance of senior Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, or Delivery Leads, this role assists in coordinating Agile ceremonies, tracking team progress, and removing basic impediments to support successful project execution. This position is ideal for individuals looking to build their Agile, Scrum, and project management experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Support the implementation of Agile ceremonies and Scrum practices within the team.
  2. Assist in facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  3. Help track sprint progress, team commitments, and delivery milestones.
  4. Work closely with the Product Owner to ensure user stories and backlog items are updated and organized.
  5. Monitor and maintain Agile boards and dashboards using Jira.
  6. Escalate risks, blockers, and dependencies to senior team members when necessary.
  7. Support the team in adhering to Agile principles and best practices.
  8. Assist in coordinating project activities, timelines, and deliverables.
  9. Prepare project status reports and Agile metrics for stakeholders.
  10. Foster collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement within the team.
  11. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  12. Participate in coaching and learning activities to develop Scrum Master and project management capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  1. 1–2 years of experience in a Scrum Master, Project Coordinator, Business Analyst, QA, or related role.
  2. Basic understanding of Scrum, Agile principles, and software development lifecycles.
  3. Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile project management tools.
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  5. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  7. Basic problem-solving and analytical skills.
  8. Experience in a fast-paced software development environment.
  9. Strong facilitation skills for team meetings and discussions.
  10. Any certifications related to Scrum Master/Agile/Project Management is a plus but not required.
