About the job Metadata Administrator

We're looking for a Metadata Administrator to play a key role in managing and maintaining our organizations metadata assets. You'll help ensure our data is accurate, consistent, and easily accessible empowering teams across the business to make data-driven decisions with confidence.

This role involves close collaboration with data stewards, custodians, and business stakeholders to implement metadata management tools, uphold governance standards, and drive continuous data quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, configure, and manage metadata management tools and technologies.

  • Review, analyze, and maintain data and metadata to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams, and cross-functional units to align data requirements and definitions across the organization.

  • Partner with data stewards and custodians to standardize data definitions, authorized data sources, and calculations.

  • Provide training and support to data stewards and custodians on metadata management principles, policies, and best practices.

  • Generate reports and presentations for senior management on metadata management initiatives, progress, and impact.

  • Support overall data governance efforts, including metadata, data quality, and master data management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.

  • 2-3 years of experience in data management or governance, particularly in metadata management, data quality, or master data management.

  • Familiarity with data management technologies and tools, including governance platforms, metadata management systems, and data quality solutions.

  • Strong understanding of data governance practices, metadata management, and data lineage concepts.

  • Experience with data catalogs, business glossaries, and data dictionaries.

  • Hands-on experience with Alation or similar data cataloging tools is highly preferred.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and project management abilities.

  • Experience working with Big Data, data warehousing, or business intelligence environments is a plus.
