We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our client’s HQ team in El Segundo!

Our client is all about shaking up the mining and drilling industry with cutting-edge tech, and they need someone who shares that spark. In this role, you’ll design and build end-to-end software systems that power next-gen industrial machinery. The tools and apps you create will help drillers do more, speed up exploration, and uncover new mineral discoveries around the world.

💻 What will you do?

• Build smart software systems that connect real-time data processing with rig command & control.
• Design clean, fast, and responsive web apps.
• Develop tools to run tests on virtual hardware, hardware-in-the-loop, and even real rigs.
• Integrate security frameworks to keep customer and geochemical data safe and compliant.
• Optimize microservices and data pipelines to handle huge, fast-growing drilling datasets.
• Manage databases, storage, monitoring, and logging both at rig sites and in the cloud.
• Drive edge-computing strategies for real-time analytics, machine learning, and autonomous rig operations.
• Take projects from concept to prototype, development, testing, and field validation.

🛠️What are they looking for?

• Skilled in multiple programming languages (Python, TypeScript, Golang, C/C++) with solid architecture know-how.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Front-end chops in React, NextJS, or similar.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and building data pipelines for real-time telemetry.
• Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), edge computing, and event-driven systems.
• Comfortable working on UNIX-like systems, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Security mindset: authentication, encryption, and compliance (SOC2, ISO 27001).
• Industrial or hardware-adjacent experience (real-time data, embedded systems) is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about delivering great user experiences.
• A geology background is a bonus.
• Bias to action: You care more about solving the problem right than just being right.
• Must be willing to work from our headquarters in El Segundo.

💰What are your compensation and benefits?🤔

• This role pays $150,000-$180,000, plus equity, so you’ll have a real stake in the company’s success. As our client grows, your equity grows too.
