We’re looking for a talented and driven Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client’s team at their El Segundo HQ!

The team is all about pushing boundaries in the mining and drilling industry, and they need someone who shares that energy. In this role, you’ll help design and build the electrical systems that power the world’s most advanced drill rigs, making mineral exploration faster than ever. From control panel design and harness routing to picking power distribution components that can handle seriously rugged conditions, you’ll have your hands on it all.

And here’s the best part: No prior mining or drilling experience needed!

🔧What will you do?

• Design electrical layouts and schematics for drill rigs, covering power distribution, controls, and instrumentation.
• Pick and source electrical parts, switchgear, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, cables, to fit each rig’s needs.
• Create wiring diagrams, harness routes, and cabinet layouts that are easy to maintain and meet industry standards.
• Work closely with controls/software teams to hook up I/O points, safety circuits, and comm networks.
• Do load calcs, short-circuit and arc flash analysis, and make sure everything lines up with NEC, NFPA, and other codes.
• Support field teams with commissioning, troubleshooting, and improving systems based on real-world feedback.
• Build alongside some of the best engineers, explorers, and operators out there.
• Team up with internal and external partners to help shape what comes next.

🛠️What are they looking for?

• Solid experience with industrial electrical systems, panel design, and power distribution.
• Skilled in CAD tools for electrical design (EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks Electrical).
• Good understanding of PLC I/O wiring, choosing instrumentation, and best practices for grounding/shielding.
• Know your way around standards like NEC, UL508A, CE, and safe work practices.
• Comfortable working side by side with mechanical and controls teams to get everything running smoothly.
• Experienced in solving tough electrical issues in challenging field conditions.
• A track record of delivering modern, full-stack hardware.
• Love working fast, iterating quickly, and jumping into big challenges.
• Bias for action: You care more about finding the right answer than being right, and you take real pride in your work.
• Must be willing to work from our headquarters in El Segundo

💰What are your compensation and benefits?🤔

• This role pays $150,000-$180,000, plus equity, so you’ll have a real stake in the company’s success. As our client grows, your equity grows too.
