Role: Senior Firewall Engineer

Location: Hybrid, Lisbon, Portugal

Required skills:

• 10+ years of experience in a similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with Check Point and Fortinet firewalls in physical and virtual appliances, including VSX and VDOMs.
• Solid knowledge of:
• Security policies and objects
• NAT (source, destination, static, dynamic)
• VPN site-to-site over IPsec
• Dynamic routing (BGP, OSPF) over tunnels
• FortiGuard services and their impact on traffic inspection
• Proven experience operating firewalls in production core, distribution and data center environments via GUI and CLI.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with:
• Packet capture and traffic analysis
• State table / connections table management
• HA / clusters, failover behaviour
• MTU/MSS and performance tuning
• Experience performing pre-change risk validation, identifying inconsistencies and potential service impact before executing tickets.
• English B2/C1 and Portuguese C2 (mandatory)
