About the Role

Our client, a technology company focused on data transparency and digital traceability within the forestry and agricultural value chains, is seeking a Business Development Lead. Their solutions help producers, partners, and stakeholders build more reliable and sustainable ecosystems through end-to-end tracking capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to expand the clients footprint across agriculture, forestry, sustainability, and related digital solution markets.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new commercial opportunities through market research, networking, and outbound outreach.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with key partners, including enterprise customers, government counterparts, NGOs, and industry collaborators.
  • Lead the full partnership cyclefrom initial engagement and proposal creation to negotiation, deal closure, and ongoing account management.
  • Work closely with internal teams (Product, Technology, Operations, Marketing) to align solutions with client needs and support successful implementation.
  • Track market trends, policy developments, and competitive activities to uncover strategic opportunities and guide decision-making.
  • Prepare pitch materials, business cases, and proposals that effectively communicate value propositions.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, workshops, and external stakeholder meetings.
  • Monitor KPIs and maintain accurate reporting of pipeline, progress, and revenue outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Agriculture, Forestry, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or B2B strategic salesideally within tech, sustainability, agriculture, startup, or supply chain sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex partnerships and closing commercial deals.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to work across multifunctional teams.
  • Interest in sustainability, value-chain innovation, and technology-enabled solutions.
  • Familiarity with digital traceability, data platforms, or emerging technologies is advantageous.
