Overview

The Merchandising Lead will oversee and drive the end-to-end merchandising strategy for both offline stores and online channels. This role plays a key part in optimizing product assortment, maximizing sales performance, and ensuring consistent brand presentation across all touchpoints. You will collaborate closely with Buying, Marketing, Operations, and E-Commerce teams to align merchandising plans with business goals and customer trends.

Key Responsibilities

1. Merchandising Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute merchandising strategies for offline stores and online platforms to support sales, margin, and inventory targets.
  • Plan seasonal product assortments based on consumer insights, trends, and market analysis.
  • Ensure alignment between brand positioning and product presentation across all channels.

2. Inventory Management

  • Monitor stock levels, sell-through performance, and replenishment needs to maintain optimal inventory health.
  • Lead demand forecasting and collaborate with Supply Chain/Buying to secure adequate stock availability.
  • Manage slow-moving SKUs and implement markdown or promotional strategies.

3. Visual Merchandising & Product Presentation

  • Ensure cohesive product display standards for offline stores, aligning with brand guidelines.
  • Oversee online product presentation including categorization, product sequencing, image quality, and content accuracy.
  • Partner with VM and Digital teams to improve customer journey and conversion.

4. Promotion & Pricing Management

  • Plan and execute pricing strategies, promotions, and campaign-driven assortments for both offline and online.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and E-Commerce teams to support launches, seasonal campaigns, and sales events.

5. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze sales performance, consumer behavior, and channel trends to inform merchandising decisions.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly performance reports and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Marketing, Operations, E-Commerce, and Store Teams to ensure smooth execution of merchandising plans.
  • Coordinate product launches, campaign rollouts, and store-level merchandising updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in merchandising, preferably in retail lifestyle, fashion, beauty, or consumer products.
  • Strong understanding of both offline retail dynamics and e-commerce merchandising.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data interpretation and sales analytics.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to coordinate across teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, trend awareness, and customer-centric thinking.
  • Experience leading a small merchandising team (preferred).
