VP of Tax
About the job VP of Tax
As the Vice President of Tax, you will lead the organizations global tax strategy, planning, compliance, and risk management. This role requires strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and business acumen to optimize the companys tax position while ensuring full compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. You will work closely with senior leadership, external advisors, and tax authorities to support the company's financial and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement long-term domestic and international tax strategies aligned with business goals.
- Identify opportunities for tax efficiency and risk mitigation, including restructuring, incentives, and planning initiatives.
- Advise on the tax implications of key business decisions, investments, and transactions.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Oversee timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of all corporate tax returns (corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with all local, regional, and international tax laws and regulatory requirements.
- Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation, ensuring alignment with OECD guidelines.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and develop a high-performing tax team; mentor and upskill tax professionals.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Legal, Finance, Operations) to ensure tax considerations are embedded in processes and decisions.
- Serve as the primary contact for tax audits and correspondence with tax authorities.
Governance & Risk Management
- Monitor changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the business.
- Ensure effective internal controls related to tax.
- Work with external advisors and auditors to validate and support tax positions.
M&A and Special Projects
- Provide tax due diligence and structuring support for acquisitions, divestitures, and partnerships.
- Lead tax aspects of cross-border operations, funding structures, and entity setups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in tax, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax regulations and international tax principles (OECD, BEPS, TP, etc.).
- Experience in a multinational company or Big Four accounting firm is highly preferred.
- Proven track record in leading tax strategy, compliance, and risk management in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- High integrity, analytical thinking, and business orientation.
