Job Summary:
The Head of Tax will be a critical leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax management for the company and its affiliated entities. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in Indonesian tax regulations, a proven track record in tax planning and compliance, and extensive experience in managing tax audits and litigation. The successful candidate will develop and implement robust tax strategies, provide expert guidance to senior management, and ensure optimal tax efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Tax Leadership & Advisory:
- Develop and execute comprehensive tax strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives and growth plans.
- Provide expert tax advice and guidance to senior management and various business units on complex tax matters, including new investments, divestitures, and operational changes.
- Identify opportunities for tax optimization and risk mitigation, ensuring all tax planning initiatives are compliant with prevailing tax laws and regulations.
- Stay abreast of changes in Indonesian tax laws, regulations, and international tax developments, assessing their impact and advising on necessary adjustments.
- Cultivate strong relationships with relevant tax authorities and external tax advisors.

Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Oversee the timely and accurate preparation and filing of all corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other relevant tax returns for the company and its affiliated entities.
- Ensure strict adherence to all tax compliance deadlines and requirements.
- Manage and review tax provisions for financial reporting purposes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with accounting standards.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls over tax processes to ensure data integrity and prevent errors.

Tax Audit & Dispute Resolution Management:
- Lead and manage all stages of tax audits initiated by the Indonesian Tax Authority (KPP), from initial requests for information to final assessments.
- Develop effective defense strategies and prepare comprehensive responses to tax audit findings.
- Manage the Tax Objection process, preparing detailed arguments and supporting documentation to challenge unfavorable audit assessments.
- Represent the company in Tax Appeals before the Tax Court if objections are unsuccessful, developing compelling legal arguments and evidence.
- Oversee Tax Litigation matters, including appeals to the Supreme Court for judicial review when necessary, coordinating with internal and external legal counsel.
- Proactively identify potential tax risks and develop strategies to prevent disputes.

Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing tax team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure efficient delivery of tax services.
- Promote best practices and a strong ethical framework within the tax function.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law from a reputable university.
- Professional certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, with a significant portion in a leadership role, ideally within a large corporation or a big four accounting firm.
- In-depth knowledge of Indonesian tax laws and regulations is essential, including income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and local taxes.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex tax audits and navigating the full spectrum of Indonesian tax dispute resolution processes (Audit, Objection, Appeal, Litigation/Judicial Review).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax issues clearly to non-tax professionals and interact effectively with tax authorities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective tax strategies.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing a team.
- Proficiency in relevant tax software and ERP systems.
- High level of integrity and professional ethics.
