About the job CEO OFFICE
Our client is seeking an exceptionally motivated and strategically-minded Chief of Staff to serve as a critical extension of the CEO's office. This pivotal role will focus on driving high-priority business development (BD), formulating strategic investment decisions, and executing new go-to-market strategies, primarily within the dynamic technology ecosystem, with a strong focus on AI and digital transformation. The ideal candidate is a fast-paced, adaptable strategic operator with a proven background in technology BD and an appetite for complex, multi-functional challenges. Fluency in Mandarin (Chinese) is highly preferred to facilitate strategic engagement in key regional markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Business Development & Opportunity Identification
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and strategic initiatives to support the company's growth in the technology sector.
- Conduct in-depth industry research across technology domains, with a focus on AI, emerging technologies, and digital innovation.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, customer needs, and regulatory developments to guide strategic decision-making.
- Support go-to-market strategies and assess partnership structures by working closely with internal teams (product, engineering, finance, legal).
- Build and maintain relationships with technology vendors, startups, research institutions, and potential strategic partners.
2. Investment Strategy & Corporate Development
- Develop and present business cases, feasibility studies, and strategic recommendations to the CEO and senior management.
- Drive and support the scoping, planning, and execution of technology-driven solutions and pilot projects.
- Provide strong analytical thinking and financial acumen to build compelling business cases for new ventures.
- Monitor and track the performance of ongoing technology and AI-related partnerships or projects.
3. CEO Office & Executive Function
- Act as a force multiplier for the CEO, managing the cadence of the office, tracking critical OKRs, and ensuring high-priority initiatives remain on schedule.
- Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and insights for the CEO, leadership, and board meetings.
- Facilitate excellent stakeholder management and communication across product, engineering, legal, and finance teams.
- Stay updated on global and local technology advancements, especially in AI, to anticipate future opportunities.
Requirements
Professional Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5–7 years of proven experience in business development, strategy, or market research within the technology sector.
- Proven experience conducting industry research, market analysis, and competitive intelligence specifically in the technology ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of technology business models (SaaS, cloud services, data platforms, AI/ML solutions, digital products, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities, evaluate potential partnerships, and support go-to-market strategies.
- Strong analytical thinking, financial acumen, and the ability to build business cases.
- Preferably has previous exposure to the AI industry, emerging tech trends, and digital transformation initiatives.
Education & Language
- Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Technology Management, or a related field; a Masters degree is an advantage.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is a strong plus (preferred to support regional strategic initiatives).
