Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Innovation: Lead the development and execution of a competitive product pipeline, transforming initial concepts into market-ready solutions.
- Full Lifecycle Oversight: Manage the end-to-end development process, from feasibility studies and resource planning to full-scale production and implementation.
- Evidence-Based Development: Utilize sensory testing and consumer insights to guide formulation; leverage scientific research to validate ingredient benefits and manufacturing standards.
- Process & Quality Excellence: Identify opportunities for technical optimization while providing critical feedback on food safety and quality assurance protocols.
- Resource & Financial Management: Direct departmental resources to meet rigorous timelines and budgets; provide clear status reporting on all R&D investments.
- Technical Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary technical advisor to internal departments and maintain strategic relationships with global ingredient suppliers.
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of global R&D advancements to ensure the organization remains current with the latest industry technologies and methodologies.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or Biotechnology; an Advanced Degree is highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of R&D/Product Development leadership within the food industry, specifically with processed foods or cooking products.
- Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of product formulation, QC/QA standards, and data analysis.
- Leadership Traits: A self-starting, "can-do" professional with the ability to manage competing priorities and high-pressure deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent English proficiency and the ability to communicate technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, project costing, and professional ethics.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel as needed for project oversight.
