Role Summary

The Project Manager will lead and manage Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) and commissioning projects within the commercial construction sector. This role involves overseeing all project phases—from initial estimation to final closeout—while ensuring strict adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance standards.

Key Challenges

  • Multitasking & Prioritization: Simultaneously managing multiple projects with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
  • Compliance & Standards: Maintaining rigorous adherence to safety protocols, quality benchmarks, and industry code compliance.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serving as the primary point of communication between diverse groups, including contractors, engineers, and field technicians.

Main Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Direct TAB and commissioning projects through the entire lifecycle, from the estimation phase to successful closeout.
  • Financial Management: Track project budgets and costs; identify and manage change orders throughout the project duration.
  • Operations & Scheduling: Coordinate manpower, project schedules, and daily workloads for dedicated project teams.
  • Technical Review: Analyze and interpret construction drawings, MEP specifications, and commissioning requirements for technical accuracy.
  • Safety & Quality Assurance: Verify and enforce safety regulations, quality control, and code compliance across all assigned job sites.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Industry Experience: Mandatory experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Professional Experience: 3–7 years of experience in TAB, commissioning, or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) project management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical systems, and controls.
  • Document Interpretation: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex construction and MEP drawings.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work independently and take initiative within a small-company environment.

Ideal Candidate Criteria

  • Minimum Experience: 7 years in the field.
  • Job Stability: Minimum of 1 year in previous roles.
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering (or equivalent university degree).
