About the job Tax Manager - Construction (Accounting firm)
A mid-sized accounting firm committed to providing exceptional client accounting services is currently recruiting a talented individual to join their team as a Tax Manager - Construction.
Reports to: Senior Tax Manager
Key responsibilities:
- 100% review of tax returns for pass-through, C-Corporation entities, federal, multi-state, and others as assigned.
- Consult and advise on income tax strategies applicable to the construction industry to avoid or defer income taxation.
- Assist in tax field exams and any tax notice resolutions.
- Handle routine tax questions, research tax issues, and look for opportunities to provide additional services.
- Develop and maintain client relationships by providing high quality service that exceeds clients expectations.
- Network with bankers, investment brokers, lawyers, etc. to continue building construction practice.
- Assist with managing, training, and developing staff.

Key experience and skills
- CPA license
- Tax experience in Construction (exempt and non-exempt construction contracts and tax returns)
- Bachelors degree in accounting, MST preferred.
- 5+ progressive years of experience with a focus on construction at a mid-sized firm.
- Experience with requesting IRS approval for a change in tax method of accounting.
- Proficiency with tax methods of accounting for exempt and non-exempt construction contracts.
