Job Openings Accountant - Prime Advisory

About the job Accountant - Prime Advisory

Make more possible, for your clients and your career.

At Prime Advisory, our clients are future builders, future creators and tax smashers: business owners, families and investors who want to grow stronger and stay on track. We look after them through our Business, Tax & Accounting and Personal Wealth OnTrack services, and we do it by building real relationships so no client ever feels alone.

We're now looking for an Intermediate to early Senior Accountant to join our Sydney CBD team. You'll be technically strong, take real ownership of your work and be ready to step up into a more senior, client-facing role.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, individuals and investment entities
  • Managing your own jobs from start to finish with limited supervision
  • Working directly with clients, building relationships and becoming their go-to contact
  • Advising on Division 7A, trust distributions, CGT, GST and BAS
  • Working in Xero and other cloud accounting platforms
  • Supporting partners on tax planning and structuring work as you grow

What you'll bring

  • Around 3–6 years' Australian public practice experience
  • Solid experience with financial statements and tax returns across companies, trusts and individuals
  • A strong grounding in Australian tax, including Division 7A, trust distributions, CGT, GST and BAS
  • Confidence with Xero and cloud accounting software
  • Comfort dealing directly with clients, plus strong communication skills
  • Sharp attention to detail and a habit of owning your work
  • CA/CPA qualified, or currently completing your studies (preferred)

What we offer

  • One day off per month of additional leave, increasing to a 9-day fortnight on full pay on completion of probation.

  • Hybrid work: two days in the office, three from home
  • Support for your CA/CPA studies through financial assistance
  • A great CBD location on Pitt Street, a short walk from Wynyard and Martin Place train and metro stations
  • A friendly, social team with quarterly functions and a relaxed office atmosphere
  • A clear path forward into a senior, client-facing role

Please note: Candidates must reside in Australia and hold Australian citizenship to apply.
