About the Role
Were seeking a vibrant, people-focused accountant with 2-3 years post-degree experience in Australian public practice. You'll have a solid grounding in compliance and the drive to grow into a Senior Client Manager role within 3 years.
You'll work directly with small and medium family-owned businesses, helping them not just stay compliant, but thrive! This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves client relationships, is passionate about helping people, and wants to grow with a progressive firm.

What You'll Be Doing
- Working directly with a mix of individual and small business clients.
- Preparing and reviewing tax returns, BAS, and financial statements for all entity types.
- Participating in tax planning, compliance, and strategy discussions.
- Being mentored to take ownership of your own client list and manage relationships confidently.
- Supporting team members and contributing to workflow improvements.
- Shadowing client meetings initially, with the goal of leading them independently within 12 months.
Career Pathway
- Immediate: Shadowing client meetings and building confidence.
- Within 12 months: Independently managing client interactions and guiding them through compliance and small business basics.
- Within 3 years: Stepping into a Senior Client Manager role, managing relationships and contributing to business growth.
What You'll Bring
- Strong base in compliance for small/medium mum and dad businesses.
- Experience preparing individual and base-level company tax returns.
- Ability to interpret financial statements confidently.
- Desire to deepen knowledge in superannuation, pensions, and SMSFs.
- Proficiency in Xero and Xero Practice Manager (XPM); bonus points for experience with FYI and BGL360.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and digital (Teams, phone, email).
- An empathetic, low-ego approach, open to learning from clients and colleagues alike.
