Position Summary:
The Intermediate Accountant will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to our clients. You'll work closely with a collaborative team, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance, and contributing to meaningful client outcomes.
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a proactive mindset. Someone who enjoys solving problems, working with clients, and continuously improving how things are done.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing annual financial statements for companies and trusts.
- Preparing income tax returns and Business Activity Statements (BAS).
- Assisting with payroll processing.
- Contributing to Tax Planning Figures and Analysis.
- Handling ATO client correspondence and queries.
- Staying updated on tax law changes and anticipating new ones through tax research.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial reports.
- Continuously improving accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Participating in professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Skills & Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in Australian public accounting
- Strong experience in tax and financial statement preparation
- Proficiency in accounting software Xero
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and organisational ability
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Client-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills
