Job Overview:
As our Intermediate Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records for multiple clients. This role involves overseeing daily bookkeeping activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and managing ledgers.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Oversee payroll processing, including calculating and recording payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and provide support during tax audits.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and stay updated on changes in accounting standards and practices.
- Train junior Bookkeepers, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of Australian bookkeeping experience, within a public practice environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software Xero.
- Strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
