Position Summary

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our dynamic remote team. In this role, you'll deliver high-quality accounting and tax services while working closely with both clients and team members. You'll handle financial statements, tax compliance, and assist in streamlining internal processes, making you an essential part of our client's success journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review financial statements in line with Australian accounting standards.
  • Prepare income tax returns and Business Activity Statements (BAS) for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSF.
  • Process annual financials for various entity types.
  • Assist with Xero payroll services.
  • Support the development of tax planning figures and analysis.
  • Manage and respond to ATO correspondence and queries.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Work collaboratively with internal team members to meet deadlines.
  • Build strong client relationships by providing reliable, high-quality service.
  • Stay updated with changes in Australian tax law and accounting standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Australian public accounting (including tax and financial statement preparation)
  • Proficient in Xero, BGL360, CAS360, and Active Workpapers.
  • Strong understanding of Australian tax regulations and accounting principles.
  • Experience with additional software such as MYOB and QuickBooks is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Client-focused mindset with a professional, approachable attitude.
