Job Overview

The Intermediate Accountant will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to our clients. This position involves preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
  • Manage SMSF administration, compliance, and financial reporting, ensuring full compliance with Australian regulations.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards and participate in ongoing professional development activities.

Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in Australian public accounting, with a focus on tax preparation and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software Xero.
  • Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
