Position Summary:
The Intermediate Accountant will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to our clients. This position involves preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Australian accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing annual financial statements for companies and trusts.
- Preparing income tax returns and Business Activity Statements.
- Assisting with payroll services.
- Contributing to Tax Planning Figures and Analysis.
- Handling ATO client correspondence and queries.
- Staying updated on tax law changes and anticipating new ones through tax research.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial reports.
- Continuously improving accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Participating in professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Skills & Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in Australian public accounting, with a focus on tax preparation and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in accounting software Xero.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
