Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with team management experience.
You will take the lead on production accounting activities, including preparing financial statements, tax returns, and GST reporting. You'll need solid knowledge of Australian taxation law to review and prepare returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies, and ensure all client work is accurate and compliant.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage returns for TAX, FBT, BAS & Tax planning
- Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns, including Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs)
- Provide help with the technical accuracy of the tax work for the clients
- Assist with the ATO client correspondence and queries
- Communicate and respond to ATO notices
- Conduct tax research, stay updated on legislation, and anticipate changes
Teamwork:
- Review and check other team members' work
- Delegate and manage the flow of work
- Provide support and collaborate closely with the team
Systems & Technology (desirable, but not essential)

- Light Year Docs
- AI – Claude and ChatGPT

You have:
- At least 4 years of experience in Australian public practice accounting, with a focus on tax and financial statement preparation.
- Qualifications of the PHP CPA Board exam passed
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Solid interest in building efficiencies and not conforming to the status quo
- Good communication skills - verbal and written – being confident to ask questions
- Desire to mentor less experienced team members
- Open to learning something new every day!
