The Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in a full-time, in-office role at our East Perth office. You'll work closely with a supportive team and a diverse portfolio of small business and individual clients, delivering quality compliance and advisory services, while also playing a key mentoring role for our junior staff.

This is a role where your communication skills and attitude matter just as much as your technical ability. We want someone who takes pride in their client relationships and brings positive energy to the team.

What's In It For You

Competitive Salary: we offer a salary package that reflects your experience and skills.

Team Rewards Program: we celebrate hitting our goals together, with three tiers of quarterly team rewards:

  • Level 1: Team dinners or fun events (we just caught a musical together!)
  • Level 2: Experiences like a luxury staycation
  • Level 3: Overseas or interstate trips (past destinations include Malaysia, South Korea and Sydney)

Personal Bonus Potential: an individual cash bonus structure tied to your own KPIs, paid twice yearly.

Flexible Hours: our core hours are 8:30am–5:00pm, but we genuinely accommodate life outside of work. Need to finish early one afternoon a week? We're happy to make it work for the right person.

New Equipment Provided: you'll be set up with everything you need from day one.

Career Growth: real opportunities for advancement, ongoing training, and professional development in a firm that invests in its people.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships and trusts
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards
  • BAS/IAS preparation
  • Liaising directly with clients on tax queries and their overall tax affairs
  • Corresponding with the ATO and ASIC as required
  • Tax planning and providing proactive tax advice to clients
  • Researching unique or complex tax scenarios when they arise
  • Mentoring and training junior accountants, supporting their professional development
  • Staying across changes in tax laws and accounting standards and sharing that knowledge with the team
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax and financial reporting
  • CPA qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong communication skills. You're confident talking to clients and explaining things clearly
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead junior staff
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • A great attitude and team-first mindset
