About the Role

We are working with a number of established independent and multiple optical practices across the Southwest who are looking for experienced Locum Dispensing Opticians to provide flexible cover.

Whether you're seeking regular days, long-term locum blocks, or occasional ad-hoc shifts, we can match you with practices that suit your preferences and availability. You'll join welcoming teams, work in well-equipped clinics, and enjoy the freedom that comes with locum life.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense spectacles accurately to all prescriptions

• Advise patients on frame choices, lens types, and coatings to meet their needs

• Ensure a high standard of patient care and professional conduct

• Manage fittings, adjustments, and small repairs

• Maintain clear patient records and uphold GOC standards

About You

• GOC-registered Dispensing Optician

• Strong clinical knowledge and dispensing expertise

• Confidently adapting to different practice environments

• Professional, personable, and patient-focused

• Ideally with previous locum experience (but not essential)
