Summary:

Seeking an experienced, hands-on Process Engineer to join our Injection Molding team. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering & Facilities Manager, this role is critical to optimizing molding performance, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring stable, capable manufacturing processes.

This is a highly floor-focused, technical role requiring direct involvement with molding machines, tooling, and process troubleshooting. It is not a desk-only engineering position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead process development and validation for new and existing injection molds using Scientific and Decoupled Molding techniques
  • Analyze and optimize molding processes to improve quality, cost, throughput, cycle time, and scrap reduction
  • Establish and maintain process controls, startup documentation, and standard production parameters
  • Start up, shut down, troubleshoot, and support molding equipment, tooling, and auxiliary systems
  • Conduct DOE's, process capability studies, and tooling qualifications
  • Provide hands-on technical support for daily production activities, tool sampling, and quality concerns
  • Recommend mold and equipment improvements and support capital projects and cost reduction initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Manufacturing leadership to ensure stable, capable processes
  • Train, coach, and provide technical direction to mold setters, operators, and engineers
  • Support quoting activities and interface with customers or vendors as required
  • Follow ISO 14001 and TS 16949 requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Two-year technical degree or comparable work experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an injection molding environment
  • At least 5 years of successful plastic injection molding processing experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Scientific Injection Molding techniques
  • Proven troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Ability to read measuring devices and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and applications preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills
  • Ability to lead initiatives and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and training skills

Work Environment & Expectations:

  • Manufacturing-floor–focused role with significant hands-on involvement with molding equipment and tooling
