Description:

We are actively seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to join our Transportation Division based in Tucson, AZ. This position is ideal for professionals with a solid background in transportation-related constructionparticularly highways, roadways, and bridgesas well as underground utility infrastructure. The right candidate brings demonstrated career longevity, hands-on leadership, and a well-rounded portfolio of successful projects. Asphalt experience is a strong advantage.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing transportation construction projects: highways, roadways, and bridges
  • Strong knowledge of underground utility systems, including water, gas, electric, and piping
  • Broad project exposure; asphalt experience is highly preferred
  • A record of long-term commitment and success in previous roles

Responsibilities

Estimator Functions

  • Apply innovative, analytical thinking to develop accurate project estimates
  • Perform detailed risk assessments for each bid opportunity
  • Prepare and submit estimates in accordance with project and contract requirements
  • Interpret and analyze plans, specifications, and scope of work documents
  • Lead and mentor junior team members in:

    • Distributing RFPs to subcontractors and vendors
    • Coordinating quantity take-offs
    • Evaluating subcontractor/vendor quotes
    • Participating in project hand-off meetings

Project Management Duties

  • Oversee day-to-day project execution, coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, and client stakeholders
  • Lead project meetings to monitor and address safety, quality, schedule, and productivity
  • Track and manage project budgets; prepare and present monthly forecasts
  • Submit pay applications and address project-related issues as they arise
  • Support and guide Project Engineers in:

    • Reviewing subcontractor pay applications
    • Submitting change orders and RFIs
    • Preparing closeout documentation
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as needed, in line with project scope and company goals

Project Types Youll Work On

  • Infrastructure: Highways, roadways, bridges, underground utilities, concrete, earthwork, and paving
  • Utilities: Water treatment and wastewater facilities, booster systems, reservoir rehabilitation
  • Development: Site development and supporting infrastructure
  • Job Order Contracts (JOC): Experience with JOC delivery methods is a plus

Physical Demands & Work Conditions

  • Regular use of hands, computer operation, and effective communication
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate construction sites
  • Exposure to both office and field environments, including variable weather and terrain
  • Occasional extended hours may be required to meet deadlines
