Data Scientist Fraud Analytics & Strategy (Hybrid | San Jose, California)
Overview:
We are seeking a Data Scientist, Fraud Analytics & Strategy to join a dynamic fraud risk and data science team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience using data to detect fraud, design effective strategies, and build predictive models that enhance customer trust and minimize losses.
Responsibilities:

Analyze large-scale data to identify and mitigate fraud trends

Build, test, and refine data models and fraud detection rules

Design and maintain dashboards and KPI reports (Tableau or AWS Quicksight)

Collaborate with product and engineering to deploy fraud prevention strategies

Present findings and business recommendations to leadership and stakeholders
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field

No more than 2 years of experience in data analytics, fraud risk, or data science

Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Tableau (required)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and storytelling abilities with data

Based in or near San Jose, CA (remote considered for highly qualified candidates)
U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)
Bonus Skills:

AWS or cloud data tools (e.g., AWS Quicksight)

Experience in the e-commerce, fintech, or payments industries

Knowledge of fraud typologies and machine learning applications
