Data Scientist Fraud Analytics & Strategy (Hybrid | San Jose, California)

Overview:
We are seeking a Data Scientist, Fraud Analytics & Strategy to join a dynamic fraud risk and data science team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience using data to detect fraud, design effective strategies, and build predictive models that enhance customer trust and minimize losses.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze large-scale data to identify and mitigate fraud trends

  • Build, test, and refine data models and fraud detection rules

  • Design and maintain dashboards and KPI reports (Tableau or AWS Quicksight)

  • Collaborate with product and engineering to deploy fraud prevention strategies

  • Present findings and business recommendations to leadership and stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field

  • No more than 2 years of experience in data analytics, fraud risk, or data science

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Tableau (required)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities with data

  • Based in or near San Jose, CA (remote considered for highly qualified candidates)

  • U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)

Bonus Skills:

  • AWS or cloud data tools (e.g., AWS Quicksight)

  • Experience in the e-commerce, fintech, or payments industries

  • Knowledge of fraud typologies and machine learning applications
