About the Role

We are seeking a Cost Accountant with strong manufacturing accounting experience to join our automotive finance team in Midway, TN. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate cost accounting records, supporting audits, preparing journal entries, and collaborating with both U.S. and international stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a collaborative environment that values precision and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage A/P invoices from overseas suppliers; log, print, and code for A/P distribution.

  • Prepare and post journal entries for in-transit inventory, royalty, and monthly APR adjustments.

  • Create and maintain monthly payment schedules for wire and ACH transactions.

  • Support external auditors during annual audits by preparing documentation and reconciliations.

  • Generate invoices for customer trials, reimbursements, and non-inventory sales.

  • Maintain and report exchange rate impacts and fiscal investment plans.

  • Prepare monthly financial sales-by-parts data and investment summaries.

  • Assist Japanese coordinators with business requests, housing, travel, and communication needs.

  • Provide management reports supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements.

  • Cross-train within the accounting team to ensure consistent operational coverage.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cost accounting and manufacturing accounting.

  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting software systems (IFS or similar preferred).

  • Strong Excel and data management skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; experience liaising with international teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automotive or industrial manufacturing cost structures.

  • Background in foreign currency transactions and reporting.

  • Exposure to month-end and year-end close processes and external audits.
