About the job Finance Manager

As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company. Your focus will be on accounting, bookkeeping, payroll processing, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance to ensure the financial health of the organization. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented finance professional with strong accounting expertise and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Management:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.

  • Prepare and maintain financial statements, management reports, and account reconciliations.

  • Conduct regular bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial records.

  • Maintain the general ledger and oversee all financial entries and adjustments.

  • Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to optimize financial performance.

  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting standards.

  • Provide financial analysis and advice to support strategic decision-making.

Payroll Management:

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and employment laws.

  • Manage statutory deductions and employee benefits in line with applicable regulations.

  • Maintain comprehensive and confidential payroll records.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure timely filing of taxes (VAT, WHT, CIT, etc.) and other statutory obligations.

  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.

  • Maintain and update financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Requirements:

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance management, or auditing.

  • ICAN certification is mandatory (ACCA certification is an added advantage).

  • Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools.

  • Solid understanding of Nigerian tax laws, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong analytical, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling skills.

Soft Skills:

  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the construction, manufacturing, or real estate industry.

  • Ability to work Monday to Friday from 12 PM to 8 PM WAT.
