Role Overview
The Hatchery Manager will oversee daily hatchery operations, manage automated incubators, enforce strict biosecurity standards, and ensure optimal hatchability and chick quality. This is a senior technical and leadership role that requires strong expertise in incubation technology and people management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily hatchery operations from egg setting to chick dispatch.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain automated incubators and hatchers.
- Ensure optimal incubation parameters for maximum hatchability.
- Maintain high biosecurity, hygiene, and compliance standards.
- Lead, train, and supervise hatchery staff.
- Ensure production of healthy, uniform day-old chicks for internal and external customers.
- Collaborate with breeder farms and feed mill to align production schedules.
- Prepare and present operational reports to management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Veterinary Medicine, or related field.
- 7-10 years experience in commercial poultry hatchery management.
- Proven track record with automated incubation systems (e.g., Petersime, Jamesway, ChickMaster).
- Strong knowledge of hatchery hygiene, chick quality, and biosecurity management.
- Leadership experience in managing large hatchery teams.
