Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled ultrasound Sonographer to join our talented team. As a Sonographer from WTCP, you will have the opportunity to contribute to patient care and improve their outcomes. For this role, per diem coverage will be needed in Northern Westchester locations which include but are not limited to (Hudson Valley and Cortlandt Manor, NY) to support the vacation and sick days of the staff located there. Ideally a skilled sonographer living between these locations would be a great fit!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the diagnostic equipment before appointments
  • Discussing the procedure and medical history with patients
  • Positioning the patient to produce the highest-quality images
  • Creating images of organs and tissues for diagnostic and assessment purposes using an ultrasound transducer
  • Ensuring the generated images are clear and capture the necessary information
  • Identifying potential abnormalities detected with the images
  • Providing a summary of the findings and documenting it in patient records
  • Communicating with physicians and other medical team members, who use the images to make a diagnosis
  • Answering questions, preparing patients by applying the gel to the skin, and positioning the patients on the table
    • Monitoring and caring for patients to ensure their safety and comfort during the procedures
    • Selecting and examining images, looking for differences between healthy and pathological areas, and determining if the scope of the exam should be extended, based on preliminary findings
    • Assisting Physicians and the healthcare teams during invasive procedures
    • Maintaining and cleaning the sonographic equipment
    • Performing medical procedures, such as administering oxygen, taking vital signs, and giving emergency treatments

    Qualifications:

    • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Program
    • Candidate must be RDMS or RDMS registry eligible. RDMS eligible graduates from CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education) accredited program must be registered in OB/GYN within 12 months of employment. ARDMS credentials must be maintained yearly
    • OB/GYN experience for a minimum of three years
    • An associate's or bachelor's degree in sonography
    • Strong technical, communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills
    • The ability to explain technical terms in a clear and understandable way
    • Good eyesight and attention to detail
    • Strong analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills
