Carpenter Job Description

Responsibilities

• Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood and other materials

• Measure, cut, and shape materials using hand tools and power tools

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and building plans

• Install framing, flooring, doors, windows, cabinets, and trim

• Build frameworks such as walls, stairways, and partitions

• Inspect and replace damaged structures or fixtures

• Follow building codes and safety standards

• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
