Job Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Logistics Project Manager to lead and optimize end-to-end logistics operations with a strong focus on resource efficiency and revenue growth. This role is responsible for identifying cost-saving opportunities, driving operational improvements and implementing logistics strategies that enhance service delivery while maximizing profitability.
The Logistics Project Manager will work cross-functionally to streamline transportation, warehouse management and supplier coordination, ensuring all logistics activities align with business objectives and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Logistics Management:
- Lead logistics projects aimed at optimizing resource allocation, reducing costs and increasing operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement data-driven logistics strategies that contribute to revenue growth and margin improvement.
- Design and oversee optimized transportation and distribution models based on customer requirements and service level agreements.
Project Execution & Operational Excellence:
- Manage the execution of key logistics initiatives, including transportation planning, route optimization and network analysis.
- Monitor and analyze logistics KPIs to identify inefficiencies and propose corrective actions.
- Ensure timely and accurate movement of goods while maintaining service quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
Resource Optimization & Cost Management:
- Utilize technology and tools to track logistics performance, fuel efficiency and asset utilization.
- Analyze inventory flows and warehouse/site performance to eliminate waste and maximize resource efficiency.
- Drive cost control initiatives, including carrier negotiations, mode selection and automation.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Operations, Finance and Marketing) to ensure logistics strategies align with overall business goals.
- Maintain strong relationships with external partners, including carriers, suppliers and clients.
- Serve as a point of escalation and resolution for major logistics issues.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure the availability and accuracy of all transportation, billing and customs documentation.
- Monitor deliveries and proactively manage exceptions to meet service-level commitments.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through process reviews, performance analysis and technology adoption.
- Lead the standardization and automation of key logistics processes.
- Support the evaluation of investment opportunities in logistics infrastructure or systems that support growth.
Business & Financial Impact:
- Deliver regular reporting on project performance, including cost savings, revenue impact and operational KPIs.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and insights to support decision-making, investment evaluations and board presentations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or project management with a focus on operational optimization and cost savings.
- Proven track record of leading logistics projects that improved efficiency or profitability.
Skills:
- Strong project management, analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficient in logistics software, data analysis tools and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Deep understanding of transportation regulations, supply chain best practices and financial impact analysis.
